U.S. citizens may travel without a visa to Sweden and stay up to 90 days.

A Schengen visa is required for persons of certain nationalities who wish to visit the Schengen countries. A complete application must be submitted to VFS Global at least 15 days before the intended visit and cannot be lodged earlier than three months before the start of the intended visit.
