Per-Olof Lööf has served as Honorary Consul of Sweden since he received his exequatur from the US State Department on January 18th, 2006.
Mr. Lööf joined Elevate Textiles, Inc in April 2019, as the President & Chief Executive Officer.
Recruited to lead the global integration and growth of the newly formed Elevate Textiles and its portfolio of distinguished brands. Key focus areas include organizational alignment, global marketing, new business development, process improvement and technology driven solutions. Recently formed from the merger of two industry power houses, American & Efrid and the International Textile Group. Elevate brands offer Industry-leading innovations, sustainable solutions and unprecedented product and operational expertise.
Elevate brands include American & Efrid (A&E), Burlington, Cone Denim, Guterman, and Safety Components. Elevate employs over 15,000 people, has 35 manufacturing facilities globally, and serves over 25,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
Prior to joining Elevate Textiles, Lööf was the Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of KEMET Corporation (NYSE:KEM) in Fort Lauderdale Florida from 2005-2018.

Production is measured in the billions of pieces per year. KEMET employs over 10,000 and is headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. KEMET has 24 manufacturing facilities globally. NEC/Tokin is headquartered in Shiroishi, Japan, and has seven manufacturing facilities in Asia and Japan. NEC/Tokin manufactures Polymer and Super capacitors, as well as Electromagnetic materials, Electro Mechanical Devices, Piezoelectric components and Access Device solutions. The company employs 8000 people. Jointly the group has operations, sales and service in 34 countries on all continents.
Lööf is past President and Chief Executive Officer of Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, the world’s leader in electronic security. He led the organization through a difficult turnaround and managed its successful acquisition by Tyco. The combined company is the world’s largest manufacturer, installer, and provider of fire protection systems and electronic security services. Its product lines include anti-theft systems, point-of-sale-monitoring devices, video surveillance products, access control and intelligent sensing and tracking systems. Sensormatic was the provider of security for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
A native of Sweden, Lööf has an extensive background in the global economy and has a proven track record of successful business-turnarounds. Prior to joining Sensormatic in 1999, he was Senior Vice President of NCR's Financial Solutions Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers to the retail financial services industry. Lööf reported to NCR Chairman.
Joining NCR from AT&T ISTEL, one of Europe's leading providers of integrated computing and communication services, where Lööf served as CEO. Previously he worked for 12 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Europe. Earlier, Lööf was Vice President for the Financial Services Business Unit in Europe, where he successfully led the growth of that business, joined the company as a Senior Manager with Andersen Consulting in both the United States and Sweden. He holds a degree (MSc) in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics, and has been awarded a U.S. Patent.
Since 1999, Lööf and his family have resided in Florida, and is active in many civic and charitable organizations, including: Member of the Board of the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children headquartered in Washington DC, member of the Board of Governors for the Boca Raton Regional Hospital, a Livery man and Freeman of the City of London, and a Founding Member of the Guild of Security Professionals, City of London.
Mr. Lööf was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2012 in the Carolinas and the South Florida Business Journal 2012 Broward Ultimate CEO. 2014 he was elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). Founded in 1919, it is the world's oldest such academy and promotes the exchange of knowledge throughout science and business in Sweden and internationally.
In 2015 he was awarded the “Swede if the Year” award. This award honors Lööf for his outstanding contribution to the Swedish community by developing the Swedish Consulate into an important service entity for Swedes in Florida. The award also recognizes his leadership role in the initiation and founding of the Swedish Church in Florida.
In 2017 Nova South Eastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship inducted Mr. Lööf into its Hall of Fame, the Huizenga Business College’s highest honor. The Hall of Fame award honored Mr. Lööf for being an accomplished leader and his influence and impact on the community.
